The government has developed a federal scientific and technical program in the field of environmental development of the Russian Federation and climate change for 2021–2030. During the meeting of the Presidium of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Science and Education, chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, the program was supported.
The FNTP implementation plan will be formed every three years. About 34 billion rubles will be allocated for the implementation of the program.
The program will work in three areas. The first is monitoring and forecasting the state of the environment and climate. The second is mitigation of anthropogenic impact on the environment and climate. The third is the adaptation of natural systems, population and economic sectors to changing climatic conditions.
The program also includes several blocks of activities: conducting research and development mainly on the basis of scientific institutions, creating and developing infrastructure for this, introducing research results into practice, as well as organizational support for the implementation of the program.
