The President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, in his Address to Parliament, once again called on the country's population to stock up on food. “Look what happened in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The whole world is facing a crisis. Developed countries began to close their borders, but think about what will happen if the export and import of food stops, when we mostly depend on imports, including food products, ”the head of state said. “I call on our farmers, who provide the markets with vegetables and fruits, livestock products, and other types of food, to work even more diligently, and the population to rational and efficient use of every piece of land,” Emomali Rahmon emphasized. To ease the burden of rural workers, the president said that Tajik farmers in 2021 will be exempted from paying a single land tax, the amount of which is about 200 million somoni. The relevant departments have been instructed to look for additional sources of funding to cover this amount.
