In the Republic of Crimea, by April 1, about 350 hectares were sown with vegetables, 70 hectares were planted with potatoes, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture reports.
The planned area for sowing vegetables in open ground in 2022 in Crimean farms is about 7 thousand hectares, for potatoes - 4,5 thousand hectares.
The largest producers of vegetables and potatoes plan to significantly increase the sown area for the 2022 harvest. Crimean farmers, despite the sanctions, do not experience a shortage of vegetable and potato seeds.
SPK Pravda plans to increase potato acreage by 2022% in 20 compared to 2021. It is also planned to increase the area under vegetables (growth will be more than 37%). By April 1, the enterprise had already sown 5 hectares of onions. In 2021, the sown area under vegetable crops in the Pravda farm increased by almost 125% and amounted to 168,5 hectares. Last year, pumpkin was also sown on an area of 20 hectares and potatoes on an area of 100 hectares. More than a thousand tons of potatoes were harvested, which is 108% by 2020, 1,4 thousand tons of vegetables were harvested - 86% compared to 2020.
KFH "Dzhankoy" this year will increase the area of sowing vegetables, it will be 250 hectares. It is planned to almost double the potato planting area - up to 140 hectares. 25 hectares of seed potatoes have already been planted. Last year, the farmer harvested 775 tons of vegetables and 2250 tons of potatoes. There are capacities for storing vegetable products for 2 thousand tons.
Increasing the production of vegetables of the "borscht set" is one of the key tasks for ensuring the food security of the republic. To this end, the state provides a set of support measures aimed at both increasing production capacity and developing commodity distribution infrastructure and increasing storage capacity. For the first time this year, state support in the amount of about 45 million rubles will be allocated for the production of vegetables and potatoes as part of the direction of agrotechnological work, compensation for sowing each hectare.
