The head of the Kizlyarsky district of the Republic of Dagestan, Akim Mikirov, together with the head of the Department of Agriculture, Raziyakhan Alilova, visited the farm of IP Magomedov in the village of Kardonovka, where workers manually plant early varieties of onions, the press service of the Administration of the municipal district "Kizlyarsky district" of the Republic of Dagestan reports.
Farmers of the Kizlyar region have redirected their activities to the production of "green" vitamins and are ready to meet the year-round demand for vegetables through open and protected ground.
“Thus, businessman Shamil Magomedov is sure that there will be no supplies of imported onions in the same volumes, so he decided to start growing them himself. On the eve of his farm, they began planting early varieties of this crop. The first crop of onions is expected to be received in June. For the Kizlyar district, this is a pilot project, and the municipality's leadership is betting on its profitability,” the press service noted.
According to the head of the Department of Agriculture, Raziyakhan Alilov, with a good result, the area for planting onions in Magomedov will be increased from 20 to 50 hectares, which will become a good example for other agricultural producers.
Shamil Magomedov said that on April 12, they started planting onions on the farm, and in two days of work they managed to plant 2 hectares.
Recall that this year the farms of the district have increased the area for planting cabbage, potatoes, onions. Since the beginning of this week, early potatoes have been planted in the private sector. For this, 11 hectares of arable land have been allocated. The team of Gigant LLC also took the initiative, these days it is actively planted here on an area of 10 hectares.
