Ukrainian farmers will begin to collect the first early potatoes in the first half of April, if spring is not extremely cold. Moreover, as reported by the UNIAN news agency with reference to the press service of the wholesale market for agricultural products “Shuvar” (“Info-Shuvar”), the supply of early potatoes will increase this spring.
According to Info-Shuvar, producers of Transcarpathia and the southern regions of the country increased the area for early potato harvest in 2020, and Ukrainian farmers began to plant the first potatoes in greenhouses in January. “Farmers expected to sell crops at a record high price, given the forecast of supply shortages of old potatoes at the end of the season,” it was informed.
