Roskachestvo considers it necessary to expand the list of controlled pesticides in Russia. This is stated in the message of the organization, reports TASS.
“It is proposed to supplement the existing list with more than 100 items of the most actively used pesticides. This measure is aimed at ensuring food security of the country and will positively affect the quality of products sold on the Russian market, ”the report says.
As explained in the organization, in Russia agricultural products in the domestic market are checked exclusively for the content of pesticides, which are included in the lists of normalized in our country. At the moment, this list consists of only 13 pesticides (11 are prohibited and two contain maximum limits). Most of them are no longer used in agricultural production, respectively, there is an acute problem of updating this list.
The Roskachestvo added that the pest control industry is constantly creating new, better products, so in the US, Europe and Asia, the number of pesticides for which local supervisors and monitoring organizations check food products is much wider. As for the Russian food market, the situation is that, as experts have explained, scheduled inspections of products by the pesticides parameter show a low detection rate. At the same time, when exporting domestic products, tests in Russian laboratories are carried out on a wide range of pesticides, the requirements for which are established in other countries of the world.
Thus, as the organization noted, there is a gap between the regulatory requirements applicable to food products traded on the domestic market of the Russian Federation and for exported goods.
In their fan studies, Roskachestvo regularly conducts screening of products for the presence of more than 130 types of pesticides, standardized in the EU countries, and often identifies such pesticides in products. However, officially, from the point of view of the regulatory authorities, the presence of these substances at the moment is not a violation. In this regard, Roskachestvo sent this initiative to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
