The reason for the ban is the lack of a phytosanitary certificate and the excess weight of food for hand luggage.
Let us recall that in accordance with the legislation, citizens arriving on the territory of our country are allowed to bring in hand luggage and baggage no more than 5 kg of regulated products without being accompanied by phytosanitary certificates. At the same time, it is forbidden to import potatoes of any kind, whether seed or food, without a phytosanitary certificate. All products found in the car at the Chernyshevskoye checkpoint were returned to the Republic of Belarus.
In addition, over the past week, inspectors of the Rosselkhoznadzor discovered and seized over 9 kilograms of dairy, meat and fish products at three international border checkpoints at 140 international individuals at the border with Poland and Lithuania, and compiled three protocols on an administrative offense. All seized products are also returned to Poland and Lithuania, the press service of the department reports.
