The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation plans to digitize agriculture by 2023. For these purposes, 50 billion rubles are needed. budget funds. In particular, the ministry proposes to introduce technologies of digital twins, AI, IoT, drones, remote sensing of the Earth, as well as develop an online platform to promote Russian agricultural products and launch modeling and forecasting systems.
Plans for the introduction of digital technologies in agriculture are reflected in the draft decree of the government of the Russian Federation "On the strategic direction in the field of digital transformation of the agro-industrial and fishery complex of the Russian Federation until 2030".
As explained in the project, forecasting technologies will make it possible to build predictive models of crop yields and the likelihood of animal diseases, the use of robots and drones will simplify production processes, and solutions in the field of remote sensing of the earth will collect data on agricultural lands and their intended use. Among the risks of implementing the strategy are dependence on foreign technologies, insufficient funding, as well as the reluctance of agricultural companies to introduce digital technologies.
