On March 26, in the format of a videoconference, negotiations between the Rosselkhoznadzor and the Committee for State Inspection in the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan took place.
The Rosselkhoznadzor indicated its concern about the systematic nature of violations in the supply of fruits and vegetables from the Republic of Kazakhstan to Russia, including attempts to import sanctioned goods. Earlier, the department was forced to apply to the State Inspection Committee in the agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan with a request to suspend shipments of ware potatoes intended for Russian importers. The reason for this was the identification of three vehicles in the Orenburg region, in which more than 60 tons of German potatoes were transported under the guise of Kazakh products.
The Rosselkhoznadzor stressed that attempts to import sanctioned goods into Russia from Kazakhstan are suppressed on an ongoing basis. So, on March 17, inspectors of the Rosselkhoznadzor, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, detained a car in which Polish apples were transported without accompanying documents. On March 21, the movement of a car with macadamia nuts of Australian origin, coming from Kazakhstan, was stopped.
The Kazakh side reported that it is conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of certification of German potatoes that are sanctioned for Russia, and also intends to organize inspections on other cases of illegal supplies. In addition, strict measures will be taken against violators. The Kazakhstani department will soon inform the Rosselkhoznadzor about the results of this work.
In conclusion, the parties agreed to work out a unified approach to sending notifications of violations identified in bilateral trade, as well as to measures taken in relation to regulated goods.
