From all sides, the capital of Komi was surrounded by summer cottages, and most citizens use the land for their intended purpose - they grow vegetables and potatoes there. The editors of the BNK decided to calculate what is cheaper - buy potatoes in a store or grow in the country.
Among the main arguments of summer residents - their own potatoes are tastier. Nobody argues with this - the purchased one is always somehow worse. Another argument - your work is not considered, this dubious truth can often be heard from representatives of the older generation. And gardeners almost never wonder how much the crop really costs them. We decided to do it for them. Immediately make a reservation that all calculations are very arbitrary. But each summer resident can, by example, calculate the average cost of a kilogram of potatoes, following our scheme.
For calculation, we took a plot of two hundred parts.
Potatoes are planted in late May - early June, picking - until mid-September. That is, you need to appear at the cottage for at least five months to prepare the site, plant potatoes, weed, spud, in the hot summer, maybe even water a couple of times, collect Colorado beetles, cut off inflorescences (some summer residents think that this increases the yield) . Suppose all this can be done in ten trips.
If you travel by bus, you will have to pay from 480 to 600 rubles (depending on the route, ticket price and discounts). It should also be taken into account that the seed potatoes will have to be delivered to the site somehow - either ask relatives or acquaintances, or hire a car. We will lay it 200 rublesalthough the amount may be significantly higher.
The car will cost more. Depending on the distance, the costs will be approximately 1000 rublesif the cottage is near the city, and 4000 rubles and higher if you have to travel far, for example, from Orbit to Myrty-u.
Fertilizers for potatoes
For a hundredth you need about 100-200 kilograms of rotten manure or litter (some recommend adding 300). Of course, this fertilizer is not sold in kilograms - you have to order a truck. All will cost a significant amount, the cost can reach 4000 rubles and more. It is clear that not all manure, peat or litter will go under the potato, therefore, suppose that the earth will be buried from 1000 to 1500 rubles.
To this we need to add various fertilizers, growth stimulants, remedies for diseases and pests - 500 rubles.
Of course, there is always the opportunity to find people who are ready to manually plow the field for a couple of bottles of vodka (costs will be approximately 300 rubles). Professional masters (and there are some in this area) ask for much more - the price can go up to 1000 rubles per hundred square meters (and 2000 rubles for two). The announcement sites are full of messages about plowing the land with a mini-tractor, walk-behind tractor or cultivator. The price is almost the same - 700-800 rubles per hundred square meters, that is 1400-1600 rubles for two hundred parts.
Most summer residents do everything on their own, believing that their work does not translate into money at all. We will do it for them. Here's how much time you have to spend:
- plowing - 8 hours;
- landing - 4 hours;
- weeding - 8 hours;
- hilling - 6 hours;
- harvesting - 8 hours.
A total of 34 hours came out. But here you can add another 8 hours for watering, collecting bugs, additional weeding. In addition, not everyone works fast, so we will take into account the error for all types of work at 8 o’clock. We recount labor hours for money. The average salary in Syktyvkar in the economy according to the latest data from the Kominat is 52 thousand rubles per month. In a month - 160 work hours. That is, the average cost of a city dweller is 325 rubles per hour. We multiply by the time spent and we get that caring for potatoes costs the summer resident 11050 to 16250 rubles.
Gardeners advise renewing potatoes every year. Depending on the variety, a kilogram of planting material costs from 90 to 160 rubles. If you take three kilograms, then the costs will be from 270 to 480 rubles.
Plowing, hilling and harvesting is hard work, and not everyone can easily tolerate it. Therefore, it is necessary to provide for the costs of warming ointments, painkillers and other medicines in order to restore health. Let's say you have to spend it on 200 to 500 rubles.
Most likely, shovels, rakes, choppers and hoes are already available. But you will need, for example, gloves. Lay it all 100 rubles.
Komi is assigned to the territory of risky agriculture: arid and hot summers can be replaced by rainy and cold, sometimes frosts occur even in early July. Therefore, the potato yield in the region can range from 180 to 70 centners per hectare. Based on the long-term data of the Kominat, the average potato yield in the republic is 120 centners per hectare, that is, 12000 kilograms per 100 acres, i.e. 240 kilograms per 2 acres.
If you take it to a minimum (ride a bus, buy manure, do everything yourself and not spend money on something extra), then the costs will amount to 12,5 thousand rubles. Thus, one kilogram of its delicious potato will cost a summer resident in 52 ruble. If you use a car, then the "cost" of potatoes increases by 2-15 rubles per kilogram.
If you do not save (drive a car, buy seed potatoes, manure, fertilizers, tools, medicines), then the costs will be 21,8 thousand rubles, and the price of one kilogram of potatoes is almost 91 ruble.
Now in Syktyvkar stores a kilogram of the cheapest potato can be bought for 26 rubles. Foreign (from Azerbaijan) costs 72 ruble. The average price is from 36 to 45 rubles. In autumn, when there is an overabundance of vegetables, you can find potatoes in stores 20 rubles per kilogram.
