A traditional potato festival was held in the Uzdensky district of the Minsk region in mid-September.
A wide selection of potato varieties was presented to the audience (recall, now there are 170 varieties of potatoes in the State Register of Belarus, and it is constantly updated with new achievements of breeders). The greatest interest among the guests of the event was caused by new items: Mastak, Sapphire and Ten. Mastak is unique in that it is resistant to viral diseases, Sapphire has a rich purple hue of pulp, and Ten is very fruitful.
General Director of the Scientific and Production Center for Potato and Fruit Growing of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vadim Makhanko, speaking at the festival, also noted that the popularity of the early Pershatsvet variety, which is distinguished by good taste, is growing among potato growers.
