In the Novosibirsk Region, a Russian-Chinese full-cycle project is being implemented for selection, seed production, production and processing of potatoes into products with high added value and export potential.
The project is aimed at the production of new varieties of potatoes suitable for cultivation in the region and technological processing, as well as at the organization in the territory of the Novosibirsk region of production for industrial processing of potatoes.
The Russian-Chinese project consists of two joint ventures in the Novosibirsk region. It is a seed-breeding center and an enterprise for the production and processing of potatoes.
The project involves the Institute of Cytology and Genetics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (FITs ITsiG SB RAS), the company Jiusen (one of the largest producers of vegetables and potatoes in China, the industrial partner of the project, the main investor) and the company SibKRA - the Russian partner of the Chinese side, BeijingKRA is a Chinese company uniting all Chinese participants.
The seed-breeding center will be located in the village of Krasnoobsk in a building with an area of about 5 thousand m2.
The enterprise for the production and processing of potatoes will be located on federal lands in the village of Bezmenovo, Cherepanovsky District, Novosibirsk Region, on an area of about 20 thousand hectares, which are in free long-term use of the FIC ICG SB RAS.
The “Russian-Chinese project” is a full cycle project for the selection, seed production, production and processing of potatoes into products with high added value and export potential. It is realized at the expense of investors from the PRC.
