In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, more than 75% of the sown area is occupied by spring cereals and legumes, the main crop is soft spring wheat. It occupies 60% in this group of crops,” the press service reports. Branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr" in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
For many years, the leading varieties in the region have been varieties of Novosibirsk selection. Since 2010, about 30% of the sown area was occupied by the early-ripening variety Novosibirskaya 15 and more than 43% - by the medium-early variety Novosibirskaya 29. By a wide margin, the middle-early variety of the same Novosibirsk selection, Pamyati Vavenkov, was in third place in terms of popularity, it occupied about 7% of the sowing. With the appearance on the market of seeds of the new variety Novosibirskaya 31 in 2013, there is a significant decrease in the sown area of the Novosibirskaya 29 variety from the same ripeness group. The new variety showed excellent results, gave stable high yields, the demand for Novosibirskaya 31 seeds among agricultural producers increased. From 2015 to 2022, this variety already occupied 30-40% of the sown areas of spring soft wheat, displacing the varieties Pamyati Vavenkova and Novosibirskaya 29.
Of the early ripe varieties in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Novosibirsk variety Novosibirskaya 15 is also in the lead, which for 10 years has occupied about 20-30% among spring soft wheat crops. With the advent of new early-ripening varieties Novosibirskaya 16 and the Ural selection variety Extra, the sowing volume of the Novosibirskaya 15 variety decreased to 16% and has been at this level for the last three years.
The mid-season variety of local selection Vetluzhanka and the mid-early variety of Omsk selection Omskaya 32 have left the Krasnoyarsk fields. Demand for these varieties has fallen, work on their seed production in the region is not being carried out. Krasnoyarsk agrarians continue to experiment with varieties, the number of varieties sown for spring wheat has increased by more than 1,5 times. From 2010 to 2020, about 18-28 varieties were sown in the region, in 2021, 31 varieties were sown in the region's farms, and in 2022 their number increased to 42. Accordingly, the share of other varieties in wheat crops increased from 5 to 17%.
At the same time, the share of sowing substandard seeds decreases from 12,8% to 3,6%. The use of seeds with high varietal indicators gives a tangible increase in yield. In addition, varietal crops sown with conditioned seeds allow the agricultural producer to receive a subsidy, which stimulates a decrease in the share of sowing non-varietal seeds.
