On March 30, 2022, a blind tasting of varietal potatoes will be held at the Siberian Federal University (Krasnoyarsk). Within three hours, everyone will be able to try 18 varieties of potatoes and give each of them a rating on a ten-point scale.
Six varieties that will receive the highest marks will be included in the production program of the Dary Malinovki agricultural holding. All these varieties are already grown by the agricultural enterprise, but only in experimental volumes and are not available to the general public. The selected varieties will begin to be grown in commercial quantities.
The event is held as part of a comprehensive scientific and technical project "Development of selection and seed production of potato varieties adapted to growing conditions in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Eastern Siberia" with the involvement of students and scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Technology and Public Catering of the Institute of Trade and Services, and also the Institute of Gastronomy.
Let us add that blind tasting is one of the calendar events of the Gastronomic R&D Park project, which is being implemented at the university under the Priority 2030 program.
