More than 180 tons of potatoes and over 31 tons of open-ground vegetables have been harvested in the Sverdlovsk region this year, which is higher than last year's level, according to the website of the Government of the Sverdlovsk region.
The main part of the harvest in the region is stored for long-term storage in modern potato and vegetable storage facilities. This will make it possible to fulfill the task set by Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev - to ensure the food security of the region.
“Today, Sverdlovsk agricultural producers are provided with places to store potatoes and vegetables in the open field in the amount of more than 230 thousand tons. This makes it possible to ensure their storage from the moment of harvesting until the new harvest, preserve seed material, provide retail chains and catering in the right amount of this type of food throughout the year,” said Sergey Sharapov, First Deputy Minister of Agro-Industrial Complex and Consumer Market of the Sverdlovsk Region.
For several years, agricultural producers have built more than 30 modern vegetable stores, and the availability of storage places has increased from 70 to 95%.
One of the leaders of the Sverdlovsk region in the production of vegetables of the "borscht" set is considered to be the agro-industrial complex "Belorechensky". About 30 tons of seed and ware potatoes and 15 tons of onions, carrots, beets and cabbages are produced here. Products are supplied all year round to all major retail chains and social institutions. Several automated lines wash, dry and pack vegetables and potatoes. To meet the demand of different consumers, at the request of retail chains, vegetables can be packaged both in kilogram bags and in large nets.
Last year, in addition to those previously available at Belorechensky, a new vegetable storehouse for XNUMX tons was put into operation. Farmers are compensated for part of the costs of building and modernizing vegetable stores. The subsidy is provided on the basis of co-financing from the federal and regional budgets. In addition, at the expense of the regional budget, the existing vegetable stores are equipped with ventilation and air conditioning.
“In order to provide the residents of the Urals with fresh high-quality products, we try to increase storage volumes every year, we build one vegetable storehouse per year. Part of the cost of building and equipping storage facilities is returned to us. This year, the amount of state support will amount to 15 million rubles, the money will be used to build new storage facilities,” says Vitaly Dunin, General Director of Belorechensky APK JSC.
Recall that last year, subsidies were directed to four investment projects for the construction of fruit and vegetable stores. Three vegetable stores with a total capacity of eight thousand tons of crop products were built by the Dazhd limited liability company in the Bogdanovichi district and one, for two thousand tons, by the Belorechensky agro-industrial complex. In addition, last year subsidies were provided for the purchase of nine sets of equipment worth almost 11 million rubles.
