At the beginning of April, on the basis of the All-Russian Institute for Horticulture and Nursery Science and Technology (Moscow), the 2nd seminar-meeting “Organization and conduct of the fight against Sosnovsky cow parsnip by the branches of the FSBI Rosselkhoztsentr” was held. What the experts talked about and why the fight against cow parsnip for so long could not take the form of a focused strategy.
The event was attended by Deputy Director D.N. Govorov and the leading agronomist of the department of services in the field of plant protection A.A. Shabelnikov, specialists from branches from Moscow, Leningrad, Tver, Vologda and other regions, the Republic of Tatarstan and the Perm Territory. As well as representatives of the executive power of the Moscow region, firms engaged in the production of plant protection products, etc.
The seminar opened with a speech by the deputy director of the FSBI Russian Agricultural Center D.N. Govorov, who in his report outlined the problem of the hogweed Sosnowski in Russia:
- At present, Sosnovsky's hogweed is intensively spreading on abandoned lands, in horticultural areas, slopes of reclamation canals, roadsides. It is resistant to unfavorable climatic conditions, actively suppresses the growth of other plant species, and displaces natural vegetation. It can also form plantings of various densities ranging from several square meters to several hectares, - said Dmitry Nikolaevich. - Branches of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr" on a contractual basis carry out comprehensive measures to destroy the Sosnovsky hogweed and to assess the effectiveness of the measures taken.
In 2018, during phytosanitary monitoring in the Russian Federation, our specialists noted this plant on an area of over 80 thousand hectares (in 2017 - 51 thousand hectares), treatments were carried out on an area of more than 12 thousand hectares (in 2017 - by 9,5, 44 thousand hectares). The greatest infestation with Sosnovsky hogweed - over 2018 thousand hectares in XNUMX was noted in the Central Federal District.
Weed control activities will continue this year.
Head of the Department of Agriculture and Processing Industries of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Moscow Region D.V. Korobov presented the report “Plans for the implementation of the state program for the destruction of the Sosnovsky hogweed in the Moscow region for 2019 and the results of 2018”.
In the framework of the exchange of experience in combating Sosnovsky’s cow parsnip in the regions, the specialists of the Russian Agricultural Center highlighted the organization of fighter activities on the ground, conducting inspections for its contamination, assessing the effectiveness of the measures taken to combat, etc.
Manufacturers of chemical plant protection products (HSPP) presented a line of drugs that can be used to combat malicious weed plants, and a flying machine, Agrofly, was demonstrated to the seminar participants.
Recall that the hogweed of Sosnovsky has long remained a fodder crop. Until 2012, hogweed (variety Severyanin) was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements Approved for Use in the Russian Federation. The development of strategies and tactics for combating a cultivated plant was legally virtually impossible.
In April 2012, the hogweed of Sosnowski was removed from the State Register of selection achievements.
In January 2015, he was removed from the All-Russian product classifier, ceasing to be a culture. To assign the status of a weed plant, a decision of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia was required. In November 2015, Sosnowski hogweed was included in the Industry Classification of Weed Plants. In 2018, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, with the active participation of the FSBI Rosselkhoztsentr, re-published the sectoral weed classifier, into which the cow-sow of Sosnovsky (Heracleum sosnowskyi The man) is included under the code 5506.
