In most cases, potatoes and carrots fell in price this week. The rise in prices was recorded only in Uzbekistan
Potato
According to EastFruit, the key pricing factor in the potato market in the countries monitored by the project was the growing supply of products, which provoked a decrease in prices.
Thus, in of Russia almost all manufacturers from the southern and central regions of the country have already started harvesting their products. As a result, the average price, albeit insignificantly, by a few cents per kg, but decreased to $ 0,32 / kg. A similar situation developed in Ukrainewhere farmers were forced to adjust the price by 20% downward, and in Moldova it collapsed even more significantly: by 24% to $ 0,33 / kg.
Meanwhile, in other European countries monitoring the project, sellers still managed to keep prices for potatoes. V Poland the most expensive products were still offered: 0,35-0,48 / kg. Potato sellers fixed prices slightly lower in Belarus: $ 0,34-0,44 / kg. V Georgia the market situation has also changed little, and the products were offered in the range of the previous week: $ 0,25-0,29 / kg.
В Tajikistan и Uzbekistan Opposite trends were noted: if in Tajikistan, potatoes fell significantly in price, having fallen in price by more than a third in a week, then in the Uzbek market, on the contrary, prices increased by 33% to an average of $ 0,23 / kg.
Carrots
Similar trends were observed in the carrot market.
В of Russia the average price for carrots decreased by 14% to $ 0,41 / kg due to its growing supply, as well as a decrease in demand for these products. It is also worth noting that the current prices for carrots in Russia are already significantly lower than they were in the same period of the previous season. In addition to domestic carrots, products imported from Israel were still present on the Russian market this week, which were offered in the range of $ 0,55-0,69 / kg.
Carrots also became cheaper in Ukraine и Moldova... In the Ukrainian market, it lost 24% in price over the week, and in Moldova - 7%. Nevertheless, it was the Moldovan market that still held the leading position in terms of prices among the countries monitored by the project.
Similar to the potato segment, carrot prices in Belarus и Georgia practically did not change in a week. The trends in the countries of Central Asia also coincided: in a week, carrots added 25% in price. Uzbekistan, but fell by 29% in Tajikistan.
At the same time, Poland was the only country where the trends in the potato and carrot markets turned out to be different, and the latter dropped in price by 11% at the end of the week.
