As of today, potatoes in Belarus are harvested on an area of 15 thousand 300 hectares, which is 50,1% of the required volume, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic told reporters.
Moreover, last year, as of the same date, the specified type of agricultural work was carried out on an area of 22 thousand hectares, which amounted to 58,4% of the required volume.
As for this year, to the greatest extent the “second Belarusian bread” was harvested on the territory of the Mogilev region - by 56,3% of the required volume, to the smallest - on the territory of the Gomel region - by 43,5% of the required volume. The total weight of the accumulated potatoes as of today in the republic is 484 thousand 500 tons, the average yield in the republic is 317 centners per hectare /
