Specialists of the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan have developed the disinfecting drug iodomal, which has identical properties with the antiseptic iodanol, which is widely used throughout the world. To make iodomal, scientists used potato starch.
The drug is currently undergoing patenting.
The drug synthesized by scientists is unique in that it lengthens the interaction of iodine with the tissues of the body, and also does not irritate the skin.
When using local raw materials, the cost of the antiseptic is reduced several times compared to the imported analogue. The finished product retains its active properties for six months.
