In the Leningrad region, the governor’s laureates were determined for their merits in the development of science and technology, the press service of the regional government reports.
Particularly noted is the study of Nadim Gadzhiev, head of the department of selection and primary seed growing of potatoes of the Leningrad Research Institute of Agriculture "Belogorka". The scientist has developed 17 varieties of potatoes especially for the northern regions, which have record properties - high yield, resistance to diseases and parasites, and new varieties can be stored for a long time.
The research results of the scientist are in demand not only by large companies, but also by subsidiary farms of the Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov and other northern regions of Russia.
