Farms in the Kostroma region have harvested 719 tons less potatoes this year, Kostromastat reported. Almost 24 thousand tons of "second grain" were harvested from the fields, which is 2,9 percent less than last year's harvest.
For the rest of the items, agricultural producers were pleased with the harvest. More vegetables were obtained than a year earlier - 4,7 thousand tons, almost 2 percent plus. Each hectare produced an average of 371 centners. The most productive were the farms of the Kostroma region - almost 400 centners per hectare.
According to statistical data as of November 1, farmers threshed more grain - 48,6 thousand tons. This is 2 percent more than last year. Wheat was especially pleased, the harvest exceeded the 20 figures by 2019 percent. The average yield of grain crops in the region was 19,8 centners per hectare. The yield is higher than the regional average in the farms of the Kostroma, Buisky and Nerekhtsky districts.
The grain growers of the region have taken care of the future harvest. The sowing of winter crops was increased by a third and the plowing was plowed much more (by 40 percent).
