The installation of a line for the production of French fries is being completed at the Tolochin Cannery (Republic of Belarus). After its launch, the enterprise will be able to successfully sell its products in the domestic and foreign markets.
In order to increase productivity, the company plans to increase the planting area for potatoes, as well as build a modern storage facility.
The plant has already removed potatoes from most of the territory: more than 450 thousand tons were harvested from 17,5 hectares. More than 380 hectares are next in line. The average yield today is 390 c / ha. Tatyana Kapranova, chief agronomist of the enterprise, noted that this year, due to the abnormal heat, the farm is experiencing a shortage of harvest. Last year, the average yield was more than 500 c / ha.
In total, 12 varieties of potatoes of various groups of ripeness and origin were planted this year. Belarusian varieties give very good results from year to year. The scientific curator of the plant is the Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Potato and Horticulture.
