The possibilities of export-import supplies of fruits and vegetables within the framework of the "green corridor" between Russia and Uzbekistan were discussed during the visit by the delegation of the Namangan region (Uzbekistan) to the agricultural enterprise "Dazhd" (Sverdlovsk region).
The delegation was greeted by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the region Dmitry Degtyarev, the deputy head of the city district Bogdanovich Alla Kovtunova and the head of the economy Oleg Baimov.
According to the head of the delegation, deputy khokim Ayubkhon Kamalov, cooperation in this area can have different formats.
“A very interesting proposal is to consider the purchase of seed potatoes in the Sverdlovsk region. This can be especially important from the point of view of logistics: our cars that delivered fruits here will go back not empty, but loaded, ”said Mr. Kamalov.
Oleg Baimov spoke about the plans for the development of the enterprise and suggested, in addition to organizing supplies, to establish an exchange of specialists in the field of agriculture.
“We are ready to share our experience in vegetable selection with your agronomists. We are also ready to receive your specialists who will be able to monitor the quality of products, see how we grow potatoes, without any chemicals and harmful additives, ”he suggested.
At present, the basis of Sverdlovsk export to Uzbekistan is made up of metallurgical, engineering products and wood products. The share of food is 7 percent. According to Dmitry Degtyarev, potatoes are the most attractive commodity for export, because the region provides itself with this crop 100 percent and even with a margin.
“Export activities are designed to contribute to the sustainable functioning of the agro-industrial complex of the Sverdlovsk region. As part of the implementation of the national project on international cooperation and export, the regional government is working to build up a new commodity mass in exports. Thus, by the end of 2024, the supply of agricultural products should reach the volume of USD 220 million, ”Dmitry Degtyarev said.
Enterprise "Dazhd" is a large investment project in the agricultural sector. The company develops abandoned land, grows potatoes, beets, carrots, wheat. The company plans to develop areas of vegetable storage and build a dairy farm for 200 heads.
