A pectin production plant is planned to be launched in the Kamyzyaksky district, - said "Watermelon" regional ministry of agriculture.
Representatives of the department informed that in the village of Chagan, Kamyzyaksky district, since 2020, a project has been implemented to grow Jerusalem artichoke and its further processing into pectin syrup and dry pectin.
At present, the stage of construction and equipping of the processing complex is being completed: engineering communications have been connected to the building, a boiler house has been built, technological equipment for the production of syrup is being installed. In the future, drying plants for the production of dry pectin will be purchased.
Note that pectin is a part of a significant amount of food products: yoghurts, curds, ketchups, sauces, pastries, drinks. In food production, it is most often used as a natural thickener, as well as an emulsifying agent. In medicine and pharmaceuticals, pectin is used to produce granules, suspensions and gels.
Today, there is virtually no production of pectin in Russia: Russian enterprises buy it in the EU countries, as well as in China.
