Potatoes in agricultural enterprises of Belarus were harvested from 25 thousand hectares, which is 90,4% of the harvested area, BelTA informs with reference to current information from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
As of October 14, 780,5 thousand tons of potatoes were dug out. On average, 1 quintals of potatoes are harvested from 312,1 ha this year, which is 40,4 quintals more than last year. The highest yield is in the Vitebsk region - 388,9 c / ha, 92,2% of the area is harvested there.
In the Brest region, potatoes were harvested from 98,4% of the areas, Grodno - 92%, Minsk - 89%, Gomel and Mogilev - 89,1% and 84,1%, respectively.
Sugar beet in Belarus has been harvested from 55,2 thousand hectares, which is 59,2% of the harvested area. More than 2,6 million tons of root crops were harvested with a yield of 471,8 centners / ha (this is 26,6 centners more than last year). The sugar content of beets is 16,61%. More than 1,4 million tons of sugar beet were sold on account of the state order, which is 67,6% of the plan.
