For ten months of this year, Belarusian farmers sold potatoes abroad for 53 million rubles (more than $ 20 million). This is one and a half times more than in the corresponding period of 2020, Belstat reports.
The increase in export earnings occurred against the backdrop of a 15 percent decline in shipments in physical weight. The rise in prices in foreign markets, which increased by 85 percent over the year, helped.
Most of the sales came from Russia. The sale of potatoes in the Russian Federation has grown almost threefold in terms of volume and more than fivefold in monetary terms.
The export of cabbage has also grown in all respects. But if in tons it was sold by eight percent more than last year, then in terms of cost - due to the rise in prices - by 234. The main buyer was also Russia.
