In the village of Averyanovka, Kizlyarsky district, Dagestan Republic, a regional conference was held to discuss the situation in the reclamation complex and find ways to solve the problems existing in the industry, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture reports.
The event was held with the participation of the Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan Battal Battalov, the director of the Ministry of Meliovodkhoz of the Republic of Dagestan Zalkip Kurbanov, as well as heads of districts, heads of municipal agro-industrial complex authorities, representatives of the scientific community and heads of agricultural enterprises of the republic.
The participants of the conference discussed measures for the efficient use of irrigated lands, organization of spring field work, implementation of measures for further modernization of the region's reclamation complex, considered the experience of carrying out hydro-reclamation and phytomeliorative measures in the farms of the northern zone of Dagestan.
Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov noted that the federal center and the authorities of the republic pay great attention to the development of land reclamation. Over the past few years alone, more than 900 million rubles have been allocated to the industry from the regional budget.
“Dagestan accounts for about 10% of all irrigated lands in the country, about 70% of all crop production in the republic is produced on irrigated areas. Therefore, the issues of the reclamation complex are given priority attention. Since 2018, the authorities of Dagestan have allocated more than 900 million rubles in this direction. Our republic is the only region in Russia that allocates funds for land reclamation from the republican budget in such volumes,” the prime minister stated.
He stressed that such a policy yields tangible results.
According to Zalkip Kurbanov, there are 58 head water intake structures and more than 1,8 thousand units of all types of technical structures in Dagestan. New equipment is purchased at the expense of federal state programs.
“The length of irrigation canals is more than 4,5 thousand km of canals, the collector and drainage network is 2 thousand km. We have 23 reservoirs with over 90 million cubic meters of water. Thanks to participation in federal programs in Dagestan, 10 reclamation facilities were put into operation after the reconstruction, the water supply of irrigated lands has improved,” said the head of the Minmeliovodkhoz of the Republic of Dagestan.
First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan Sharip Sharipov spoke about the hydro-reclamation and cultural-technical measures being taken in the republic. He noted that a lot of work has been done in these areas in recent years, but additional efforts are required.
“In hydromelioration over the past five years in Dagestan, 264 projects have been implemented for a total of 1,6 billion rubles, 10 thousand hectares of new rice engineering systems have been built, another 20 thousand hectares have been reconstructed. We are leaders in the country in the construction of new rice systems, which became possible thanks to state support measures,” said the First Deputy Minister.
He added that drip irrigation systems were additionally installed in the region on almost 4 hectares, and sprinkling systems were installed on 6 hectares. Cultural and technical work was carried out on an area of 14 thousand hectares.
“In four years, we have put into circulation 21 thousand hectares of land, but we still have to introduce 36 thousand hectares of arable land. Separate municipalities should become more active here,” Sharip Sharipov said.
