In the Republic of Dagestan, certain efforts are being made to increase the production of crops from the so-called "borscht set". Potatoes, cabbage, carrots, onions and beets are products that are always in high demand from the consumer.
One of the leading producers of vegetable products in the republic is LLC "Agroprime" of the Kizilyurt region. On July 31, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food RD Sharip Sharipov visited this farm and got acquainted with the process of harvesting medium early varieties of potatoes.
The farm has allocated 120 hectares of arable land for the cultivation of various vegetable crops. Of these, potatoes are cultivated on 80 hectares, carrots occupy 25 hectares, onions, beets and cabbage are grown on the remaining areas. The production facilities are located both on the territory of the Kizilyurt and Kumtorkalinsky regions, and in the Volgograd region. Vegetable storage facilities were organized in the Kizlyar and Khasavyurt districts.
When choosing varieties of crops, consumer qualities of products are taken into account. Mainly cultivated potato variety Udacha, super-elite seed potatoes were purchased in the Leningrad region. The variety is quite plastic in terms of its characteristics, it easily adapts to a variety of soil and climatic conditions, and most importantly, it has a good yield. The farm harvests up to 500 centners of tubers per hectare of plantations. A queue of trucks has already lined up here, which will carry the new crop to the Russian markets.
Commenting on what he saw, Sharip Sharipov noted that there is a noticeable emphasis on the introduction of modern agricultural technologies in the farm. Going to the bar of 500 c / ha, with an average yield in the country of about 200 c / ha, clearly speaks of this. The entire farming system is clearly built here, moreover, moisture-saving technologies are used in production. This farm has the potential to increase production volumes, the issue is limited by the lack of land.
“The theme of the culture of agriculture in the agriculture of Dagestan is of extreme relevance. Today in the ministry we are paying special attention to this aspect. And we see that business executives who listen to us, consult with agricultural science, try to comply with technologies, as a rule, achieve high production indicators. We are working on a set of measures in order to increase supplies to food markets by types of products from the "borscht set" group. In order to stimulate the production of vegetables in the organized sector, the rate on unrelated support per hectare of vegetable crops was increased to 1 thousand rubles. Farms are responding. In Dagestan today about 25 thousand hectares are occupied with potatoes, more than 20 thousand hectares for carrots, about 2 thousand hectares on onions, and 3 hectares for table beets. Favorable natural and climatic conditions and the traditional skills of cultivating vegetable crops, available to our population, favor the expansion of production. The ministry intends to continue to provide support to those who today are aimed at increasing the production of demanded types of agricultural products, ”said the first deputy head of the agrarian department.
