Nearly 20 hectares of land have been planted with potatoes from Sergei Purkeryanu from the village of Talmaz, Stefanvodsky District.
“We have collected about 35 tons per hectare. Good quality. There are almost no spoiled potatoes. Almost all of them are good, ”says farmer Sergei Purcăreanu.
The farmer has already sold the whole harvest. Therefore, he had to import potatoes from Belarus.
“Local potatoes, Moldovan, smoother and more beautiful in color. Imported, from Belarus, as you can see, it is dirty, if you wash it, you can see dots, ”said farmer Sergei Purcăreanu.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 360 thousand tons of potatoes were harvested this year. Despite a good harvest, prices remained the same.
“Both the costs and investments of farmers need to be taken into account. And if investments vary up to 4,5 lei, then it is impossible to sell less than this price, ”said Vasile Sharban, head of the Ministry of Agriculture.
In the central market, a kilogram of potatoes costs between five and eight lei.
“Moldavian potatoes, Polish, Belarusian, Ukrainian. Seven lei - Polish yarga, from six to seven - Belarusian, Ukrainian for eight, Moldovan for five ”.
“I'm buying ours. I think ours is better than the imported one. It contains less nitrates. I don’t know, I support our producers ”.
