The implementation of the sowing campaign - 2022 in the Khabarovsk Territory was discussed at the weekly meeting of the operational headquarters to increase the stability of the region's economy under sanctions, chaired by Mikhail Degtyarev, the official website of the Government of the Khabarovsk Territory reports.
The sowing campaign has begun. It's on schedule. In stock - the necessary stock of seeds, mineral fertilizers and diesel fuel. The growth of the agro-industrial complex, the expansion of the production of domestic products, especially in the context of sanctions, is a priority for our region. I want to remind you that the provision of the region with potatoes is almost 64 percent, vegetables - 28 percent. These are low scores. We need to expand cultivated land. While we have a "reverse" dynamics, - said the governor.
According to the Minister of Agriculture of the region Pavel Storozhuk, since 2018, the sown area has decreased by 25 hectares, amounting to just over 55 hectares today. Therefore, the priority tasks are the introduction of additional agricultural land into circulation, the restoration of the reclamation complex, the redistribution of plots returned to the treasury of the region. According to the ministry, in order to close the existing demand for potatoes, it is necessary to additionally prepare 3 hectares, bringing the total area to 10 hectares. And for vegetables - to increase sowing three times: from 3 to 9 thousand hectares.
However, about 85 percent of vegetables and potatoes are grown by people themselves. Now the relevant departments, on behalf of the head of the region, are solving the issue of providing the population with high-quality seeds and land plots. Only in Khabarovsk and the Khabarovsk region there are almost 540 free allotments. And the number of applications registered with the Ministry of Property from those who want to rent them is about 150 people.
- The mechanism has been developed, applications are being received. Recently, the federal government adopted a resolution that simplifies the provision of plots to citizens and enterprises for the production of import-substituting products. Land can be provided without bidding. Therefore, we urgently need to determine a list of such goods at the regional level. However, vegetables definitely fall under the criteria of import substitution,” Mikhail Degtyarev emphasized.
