The sowing campaign continues in the region, now the farmers are completing the planting of potatoes. The regional authorities, under sanctions pressure, are working to increase the area under crops and create all the conditions for ensuring the food security of the region, reports press service of the governor and government of the Khabarovsk Territory.
Previously, the cultivation of this crop was actively engaged mainly in the agrarians of Khabarovsk and them. Lazo districts, but in recent years, planting areas for potatoes have been increased by farms in the Amur, Komsomol and Nanai districts.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the region, taking into account favorable weather conditions, the gross harvest of potatoes this year may amount to about 17,8 thousand tons, which is more than two times more than last year. This year, the expected production of potatoes due to the growth of sown areas and yields in farms of all categories will be more than 102 thousand tons, or 117% compared to 2021. The level of self-sufficiency of the region will increase to 71%.
- In total, 13 organizations and 86 peasant farms are engaged in the production of potatoes in the Khabarovsk Territory. This year, on an area of 30 hectares, this work was resumed by the Poletnoye agricultural enterprise - in recent years, the farm has not been engaged in potato growing. To further increase potato production, work is underway to create a seed center based on enterprises and farms in the Khabarovsk district and the Lazo district, the regional Ministry of Agriculture noted.
The leaders in the production of potatoes are farms "ShP "Kolos", "Chernyaevskoye", "Amur Agricultural Enterprise", "Forest Compound" and "LazoMol-Agro". Farmers plan to start harvesting in September.
It should be noted that in order to increase the volume of potato production, on behalf of the Governor of the Territory, work was carried out with the administrations of the districts to increase the land plots for this crop.
From 2023, the federal Ministry of Agriculture provides support for personal subsidiary plots growing potatoes. To use it, you must register with the tax authorities as self-employed. Federal support measures in this direction continue to improve.
