MC "August-Agro" is expanding the sown area of farms under its management in the Republic of Tatarstan by returning fallow lands to crop rotation. In total, by the end of 2021, it is planned to put into operation about 16 thousand hectares of unused farmland in the Kamsko-Ustinsky, Verkhneuslonsky, Leninogorsky and Muslyumovsky districts. Another 6 thousand hectares of abandoned fields are to be restored in 2022 in the agro-firm "August-Kaibitsy", whose land assets have recently become part of the "Agroproject" of the "August" company.
In some farms of "Agroproject", work on the restoration of farmland has already been completed. In fields abandoned for a long time, young trees were uprooted by mechanical methods. In areas with difficult terrain and rocky areas, the Kivi-Pekka stone picker was used: removing large stones will help protect agricultural machinery from damage and premature wear.
In 2021, processing was carried out on 4 thousand hectares of deposits in the agro-firm "August-Leninogorsk", and 2 thousand hectares of fallow lands were developed in "August-Muslyum". The most significant volume of abandoned land - 10 thousand hectares - will be returned to circulation on the territory of the agricultural company "August-Kamskoye Ustye", and on half of this area, the necessary measures have already been taken to combat weeds, as well as leveling the soil. Another 5 hectares are being cultivated at the moment: 5 subsoilers are in operation, including the new Bednar Terraland and Pöttinger Terria with a working width of 4 meters. The earth is loosened without turning the layer to a depth of 25–30 cm.
“Some farmlands have been abandoned for 15 years or more. Our goal is to level the soil on them and undermine the root system of perennial weeds, such as old-growth alfalfa. After processing with a deep loosener, the fields are once again leveled with a disc harrow, ”says Aydar Galyautdinov, General Director of the August-Agro Management Company.
As in other fields of the August-Agro Management Company in the Republic of Tatarstan, the No-Till technology of no-till farming will be used on the returned areas. To continue weed control, these areas will be treated with the Tornado 2022 herbicide produced by the August company before the 500 sowing season. It is assumed that different crops will be sown, but preference is given to sunflower: highly effective herbicides have been developed to protect it, which will help both preserve the first harvest and defeat the remnants of weeds. Herbicidal treatment of sunflower during the growing season will be carried out with a tank mixture of "Augusta" "Paradox" + "Grader" preparations.
In the season of 2022, the agricultural machinery necessary to put fallow lands into circulation will begin work on the territories of the new farm "August-Agro" in the Kaibitsky district. Next year, about 6 thousand hectares of abandoned fields are to be restored here.
To date, the management of "August-Agro" in Tatarstan is 228 thousand hectares of land. Farms are located in Aznakaevsky, Verkhneuslonsky, Kaibitsky, Kamsko-Ustinsky, Leninogorsky, Menzelinsky, Muslyumovsky and Tyulyachinsky districts of the republic.
