According to the information of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, to date, the plan for sowing vegetables of open ground has been completed by 27%, for potatoes - by 36%.
Thus, in commodity-producing farms of the region, vegetables have already been sown on an area of about 300 hectares, more than 830 hectares of potatoes have been planted.
According to the regional ministry of agriculture, in order to maintain food security this year, it is planned to increase the area of open ground vegetables by 7% (to 1 hectares) and to preserve the sown area of potatoes at last year's level (109 hectares).
The regional leader in the production of vegetables in the open field is the Guryevsky urban district, here they plan to sow more than 540 hectares, to date 34% of the plan has been implemented. Large crops of vegetables are also planned in Bagrationovsky (210 hectares) and Chernyakhovsky (135 hectares) urban districts. Here, the work was completed by 27 and 11%, respectively.
Most potatoes will be planted in the Guryevsky urban district - more than 710 hectares. Also traditionally among the key potato producers in the region are Bagration (258 hectares), Guards (382 hectares) and Slav (535 hectares) urban districts. The most active work is being carried out in the Guards and Slavsky municipalities - as of the current date, 59 and 48% of the planned volumes of potatoes have already been planted here.
The farmers in the region are fully provided with seeds and mineral fertilizers, there is sufficient technical equipment to carry out spring field work in the optimal time.
We add that sowing of spring crops continues in the region. It is planned to be held on 86 thousand hectares. To date, the level of implementation of the plan is 66%.
