Last Saturday, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Saparkhan Omarov met with the head of the Union of Potato and Vegetable Growers of Kazakhstan Kairat Bisetaev.
The parties discussed the problems of vegetable growing, including increasing the production of potatoes, exchanged views and expressed their proposals on the provision of state support, investment subsidies, unification of prices for seeds, etc. On many of the topics discussed, mutual understanding was found. In particular, following the meeting, the minister instructed the relevant department of the Ministry of Agriculture, together with interested parties - the Union of Potato and Vegetable Growers and NPP Atameken - to develop a roadmap for solving the problems of the development of the potato industry within a week.
It is worth noting that the minister holds such meetings on a systematic basis. As previously reported, after a meeting on the development of the agro-industrial complex and the food industry, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Saparkhan Omarov, decided to hold weekly meetings with industry associations and major processors in order to study in detail and find a solution to systemic issues. A suitable day for free negotiations was determined Saturday.
The head of the department has already met with members of the Union of Grain Processors and Bakers of Kazakhstan, the Republican Chamber for Sheep Breeding and the Association of Credit Partnerships, the Association of Sugar, Food and Processing Industries.
In the near future, meetings are planned with representatives of industry associations of confectioners, cotton growers, poultry farmers, egg producers, gardeners, as well as grain, dairy and meat and dairy unions of Kazakhstan.
