Yesterday, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan discussed the possibility of building a potato processing plant in the Arsk region of the republic, the press service of the ministry said.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov, Deputy Ministers Ildus Gabdrakhmanov and Talgat Tagirzyanov, General Director of the State Unitary Enterprise "RATSIN" Askhat Sharapov, Head of the Arsk District of the Republic of Tatarstan Ilshat Nuriyev, General Director of LLC "Service-Agro" Gabdelhai Karimov, General Director of Zelenodolsk Meat Processing Plant Dal-Kama, Gocha Kvaratskhelia, as well as representatives of McCain - CFO Alain Duranlo, CTO Ronald Muller and others.
Marat Akhmetov spoke about growing potatoes in the republic. “Tatarstan produces a lot of potatoes, but its quality varies. Both agricultural organizations and personal subsidiary plots are engaged in the cultivation of this culture. At the same time, we are systematically improving the technology for the production of potatoes, ”said the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan.
He assured that in case of a positive decision on the construction of the plant, all kinds of support would be provided to the companies. “For our part, we are ready for the implementation of such a project,” the minister said.
According to Philippe Teri, vice president of agriculture at McCain, he made sure that Tatarstan’s potential matches this project.
Earlier, representatives of the company got acquainted with the activities of one of the largest potato producers - LLC "AF" Kyrlay "" Arsk region. Today, June 15, they will visit Zelenodolsk Meat Processing Plant Dal-Kama LLC.
Teri said that the final decision on this matter will be made by McCain's management. If it is positive, further discussion will be held with the participation of the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
