It is reported that the new project will work at the Far Eastern Research Institute of Agriculture (DVNIISKH). The scope of his main tasks will include developments in the field of seed production and microbiology.
The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the Far Eastern Research Institute of Agriculture, representatives of the Khabarovsk administration, as well as representatives of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Consul of China in Khabarovsk.
“The first direction from which cooperation will begin is seed production. We plan to create a seed-growing center for the production of seed material of various varieties of potatoes of those varieties that we will jointly create with Chinese scientists, ”said Tatyana Aseeva, head of the Far East Scientific Research Institute of Agricultural Sciences.
The second direction she called the development of microbiology. It is planned to create a laboratory for the production of soybean strains. Also, according to her, the main task is the exchange of advanced technologies in agriculture and their further implementation.
The first to study in the selection department will go food varieties of potatoes. These are root crops that will grow quickly, and will also be resistant to low temperatures.
It is noted that over the years of activity, Far Eastern scientists have created 216 varieties of cereals, vegetables, fodder and fruit crops that are in demand in the region's agriculture. 32 varieties were created and entered into the register of selection achievements.
In addition, it is emphasized that the second branch of the joint center will be opened in Harbin on the basis of the Heilongjiang Academy of Sciences.
