In the Sukhobuzim district, on the territory of the agricultural enterprise "Gifts of Robin", a traditional regional event took place - the Day of the Potato Field, reports IA "Svetich" with reference to the press service of the regional ministry of agriculture.
About a hundred people took part in the Potato Field Day: heads and agronomists of agricultural enterprises, individual entrepreneurs and heads of peasant (farmer) households, representatives of the authorities, the scientific community, specialized institutions, manufacturers of plant protection products and agricultural equipment dealers.
As part of the event, a workshop was held, the participants of which discussed issues of increasing the efficiency of potato growing.
“To obtain a stable and high-quality crop, special attention should be paid to seed material and production technology. It is no secret that high-quality seeds provide a 25-30 percent increase in productivity. Our agricultural producers have great potential in this matter, - said Sergey Brylyov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Trade of the Territory in his welcoming speech. “The purpose of today's meeting is to show the technology for producing at least 50 tons of potatoes per hectare, thereby contributing to an increase in the efficiency of use of arable land.”
Sergey Brylyov announced changes in the provision of hectare support. Next year, those agricultural producers who, when carrying out agrotechnological work, used varieties or hybrids of seeds of agricultural crops included in the State Register of Selection Achievements and corresponding to GOST, introduced mineral fertilizers in accordance with the calculation plan of the agricultural chemical services of the region.
Vasily German, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SHP Dary Robin, LLC noted the importance of technical re-equipment of the industry and cooperation of potato producers in the region.
“Without rethinking the functioning of the industry and the whole approach to potato growing, effective work in this direction is impossible today. Replacement of obsolete equipment with new modern models is required. To this end, in the region there are many programs to support farmers in technical and technological modernization. Competition should not be between agricultural producers of the region, but between agrarians of the regions. We are ready to share our knowledge and best practices so that potato growing in the region becomes a competitive industry. Let's formulate the tasks together and solve them, ”Vasily German addressed the meeting participants.
He stressed that today in the region there are not a large number of successful producers of marketable potatoes. To develop in this direction, you need to turn to professionals. “When we buy seeds from well-known originators, we, in addition to seeds with a high degree of marketability and productivity, gain invaluable experience from highly qualified specialists: consultations, access to agronomy,” said Vasily German.
As part of the Potato Field Day, a tasting of 19 varieties of potatoes produced in the "Gifts of Robin" took place. In addition, the participants of the event examined the potato plots, the exhibition ground of modern agricultural machinery designed for cultivating potatoes.
“Gifts of the Robin” is certified in the Rosselkhoztsentr voluntary certification system as a producer of seed potatoes. The agricultural enterprise is the originator of the Red Scarlett variety, ensuring its conservation and production of the original seeds.
In addition, scientists in the Krasnoyarsk State Agrarian University are conducting work on the selection and propagation of seed potatoes in the region. Agrarian University - the originator of varieties Aramis and Krasnoyarsk early.
We add that from 2017 to 2018, the gross harvest of potatoes increased by 6% in farms of all categories. It amounted to 628 thousand tons with an average yield of 168 centners per hectare.
