The Prinevskoye breeding plant in Vsevolozhsk region collected the first 33 tons of early potatoes. Products from the fields are sent to retail chains, the press service of the government of the Leningrad region reports.
Also, since the beginning of the harvesting of early vegetables in the region, 367 tons of cabbage, beets, zucchini, salads have already been collected.
According to the plan, in 2020, agricultural producers of the Leningrad Region must harvest 72,4 thousand tons of vegetables and 67,2 thousand tons of potatoes.
At the end of 2019, taking into account the households of the population, the region produced 204,8 thousand tons of potatoes and 144,6 thousand tons of vegetables. The Leningrad Region is 127% self-sufficient in potatoes and is one of the three leading seed potato producers in Russia.
