Seventeen districts are sowing corn for grain in the Lipetsk region. As of May 17 of this year, 13 thousand hectares have been sown, according to the regional department of agriculture. In total, more than 24,6 thousand hectares have been allocated for this crop in 2021 in the region.
In total, Lipetsk agrarians sowed about 470 thousand hectares with spring cereals and legumes. Of these, 128 thousand are reseeding. Sowing of oilseeds is in full swing: sunflower is sown on 143 thousand hectares, rapeseed is sown on 51 thousand hectares. Soybeans are sown in 16 districts. At the moment, it has sown more than 14 thousand hectares out of 76. In total, about 330 thousand hectares have been allotted for oilseeds this year.
Sowing of sugar beet is coming to an end. In total, in 2021, this crop will occupy 115 thousand hectares in the region, which is 18% more than last year. As of May 13, 103 thousand hectares have already been sown.
“The agro-industrial complex is one of the most technologically advanced and innovative sectors of the regional economy, but at the same time it retains the care and warmth of human hands, the wealth of the Lipetsk land in the manufactured goods and products. Also, the region's enterprises have begun planting potatoes and vegetables in open ground. As of May 13, more than two thousand hectares of potatoes and 142 hectares of vegetables have been planted. These are mainly cabbage, onions, carrots, beets.
