The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan hosted a presentation of the project of a selection and seed production center on the basis of the Federal Research Center "KazSC RAS" for the development and introduction of varieties and hybrids of potatoes, grain and leguminous crops into the agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, Director of the Federal Research Center "KazSC RAS" Oleg Sinyashin, the head of the TatNIISH - a separate structural unit of the Federal Research Center "KazSC RAS" Marsel Tagirov and other responsible persons.
Farida Zinnatova, deputy head for scientific work of the TatNIISH, a separate structural unit of the Federal Research Center "KazSC RAS", spoke about the project.
“The Seed Breeding Center will become a structural subdivision of the Federal Research Center of KazSC RAS within the framework of the federal project“ Development of advanced infrastructure for research and development in the Russian Federation ”of the National Project“ Science ”. The purpose of its creation is to provide research activities for the selection of agricultural crops and the organization of scientific and practical work in the field of selection and original seed production of agricultural crops included in the area of the center's activities, ”said Farida Zinnatova.
During her speech, she also spoke about the presence and development of the scientific and technological infrastructure, educational programs and tasks facing the center.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan expressed interest in the project and proposed to create a working group with the participation of the ministry's specialists and draw up a roadmap for its phased implementation. The working group will determine priority types of crops and the most promising areas of work for the selection and seed production center.
