Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the Dary Ordynska agricultural enterprise, which today is one of the undisputed leaders in the Novosibirsk Region in the production of open ground vegetables, completed the sowing on time. This was greatly helped by the new technology, which the farm acquired with state support.
This spring has become a test for all, and for farmers as well.
“Thanks to an early, dry and warm spring, we started the sowing campaign two weeks ahead of schedule,” says Shakir Suleymanov, the head of OPH Dary Ordynska LLC. - Planted potatoes and other vegetables, sowed wheat and buckwheat. Everything went fine, but now the crops lack moisture. It would be great if the good rains passed. Sown area on the farm remained approximately at the level of last year. We gave 350 hectares for potatoes, 140 hectares for carrots, cabbage, beets and other vegetables. 1 hectares were sown with wheat, and another 170 hectares this year are buckwheat.
As the head of the agricultural enterprise explains, the sowing campaign took place in compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological safety measures. The farm bought a fair amount of masks, gloves and antiseptics, which cost a tidy sum. But, according to Shakir Suleymanov’s deep conviction, these expenses were fully justified: no one left for the sick leave in the team.
In the new season - with new equipment
- This year was marked for us by the acquisition of new agricultural equipment. We very successfully bought a self-propelled sprayer. We just need it, since we grow vegetables, and they constantly need to be processed from pests, diseases, weeds, and fertilize. In principle, you cannot get a good harvest without this, especially in Siberia and in open ground. Take the same cabbage moth, which incredibly bred last year. If you don’t process the crops from it, and even several times a season, you can forget about the harvest, ”says Shakir Suleymanov. - Previously, we used a trailed sprayer, and this is very inconvenient, and the performance was lower. Now a completely different matter. We hope now to get a good harvest.
According to the director of the Dary Ordynsk farm, the self-propelled sprayer acquired the farm with state support, leasing and on favorable terms: the buyer does not pay anything for the first year, and then they are given an installment plan for eight years.
- In addition to the sprayer, we purchased three more tractors and two combing machines, but this is already at the enterprise’s money. In other words, we bought even more equipment than we expected, but without it today it’s not possible, ”says the head of the farm.
Lady Claire in Siberia
And also “Gifts of Ordynsk” this year planted 20 hectares of Lady Claire potatoes of Dutch selection. This is a very early, disease-resistant and productive variety, but its main value is not even that: even tubers are ideal for making chips. As you know, the company “Pepsiko” is going to build a plant for the production of snack products in our region, and the farm seeks in the future to become one of its main suppliers. But first you need to prove that potatoes grown in Siberian fields meet the stringent criteria of an international company. However, Shakir Suleymanov is XNUMX% confident in his specialists - they had to solve not such problems.
