Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov and General Director of JSC Firm "August" Mikhail Danilov on June 16 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) signed an agreement on the construction of Russia's largest research center (SRC) in the Moscow region for the development of innovative plant protection products. The center will appear in the city of Chernogolovka. The site for construction was allocated to "August" as part of the "Land for 1 ruble" program near Moscow, intended for investors in import-substituting production. The terms of the program provide for the lease of land for 3 years at a price of 1 ruble.
“The goal of the project is to create new effective chemical plant protection products that will replace imports and allow Russian farmers to work in peace. In addition, the products will be sent to the CIS countries and far abroad. The company will provide jobs for about 200 people. The total investment is 3,4 billion rubles. We will start work in the 3rd quarter of this year, and we plan to complete the construction in 2025,” Andrey Vorobyov noted when signing the agreement.
The scientists of JSC Firm "August" are engaged in the creation of the most effective formulations of pesticides by choosing the optimal preparative form, carefully selecting the components of the formulations, controlling the quality of raw materials and checking the properties of the finished product. Among the developments of the profile division of the company are such modern formulations as nanoemulsion concentrate, microemulsion concentrate, water-dispersible granules, suspension concentrates, oil-water emulsions. Many of them appeared in the domestic production of pesticides for the first time.
At the site of the Research Center in Chernogolovka, Avgusta specialists will continue to engage in research and development of innovative drugs at a new level. The area of the land plot for the construction of the center is almost 7 hectares, the total area of the future building is 25 thousand square meters. meters. The NIC plans to create 2 clusters: chemical and biological. In the first one, the development of formulations of chemical plant protection products, the synthesis and development of the technology for obtaining active substances, as well as the scaling of processes will be carried out. First-class analytical laboratories will also appear here. The biological cluster will be designed for primary screening of new drugs and active ingredients for herbicidal, fungicidal and insecticidal activity. It is planned to build its own greenhouse on the territory of the biological cluster. It is assumed that the SIC will annually produce up to 100 kg of prototypes of chemicals for plant protection. The drugs developed in the Moscow region will be produced at the Avgusta factories in the Chuvash Republic, the Republic of Tatarstan and the Republic of Belarus. The center will also become a training base for students of chemical, biological and other universities, which will make it possible to educate new Russian specialists.
"The Moscow region has been and remains a region with high internal reserves, with a unique proximity to the center of the country's technological, scientific and human resources, as well as with the opportunity to recruit the best specialists from other regions," said Mikhail Danilov, General Director of JSC Firm "August". A favorable investment climate contributes to the intensive development of science-intensive industries. We hope that the Research Center "Augusta", working to strengthen the food security of the country, will strengthen the potential of Chernogolovka and the Moscow Region as a whole with its presence."
