A vegetable storage facility with a capacity of 3 tons is being built in Lesozavodsk, the official website of the government of Primorsky Krai reports. Commissioning of the facility by the fall of this year will provide residents of the region with high quality vegetables.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Primorye, at present the total capacity of vegetable stores in the region is more than 54 tons. For example, in Lesozavodsk, farmer Valery Trubitsyn built a vegetable storage facility with a capacity of 4 tons.
“In addition, a storage facility for 3 tons is being built. It is scheduled to be put into operation in the third quarter of this year. This will preserve the harvested crop in high quality and provide the residents of the region with vegetables at an affordable price,” the department added.
It is worth noting that, thanks to state support, in September 2021, a vegetable storehouse with a microclimate system with a capacity of 1,3 thousand tons was commissioned in the village of Frolovka, Partizansky district. As a result, the area planted with potatoes and vegetables at Tatyana Morozova's farm has been increased to 280 hectares.
Recall that this year 16,5 thousand hectares of potatoes will be planted in Primorye. Also, farmers actively produce vegetables, which will provide Primorye residents with a “borscht set” under the sanctions.
