Farmers in Russia are seriously concerned about falling prices for early cabbage. According to them, if the downward price trend continues in this segment, further harvesting work may become unprofitable. This is reported by analysts of the EastFruit project.
Today, early cabbage on the Russian market is offered at 6-9 rubles / kg ($ 0,09- $ 0,14 / kg), which is on average 4 times cheaper than at the end of the last working week.
Also, this week lowered prices for early cabbage and farmers of the Republic of Dagestan. Today they are ready to ship these products from 5 rubles / kg ($ 0,07 / kg).
According to producers, in the early cabbage market in Russia there is an excess of supply against the background of a rather low trading activity. As a result, the price of these products is reduced almost daily.
It should be noted that at the moment the price of early cabbage in Russia is already on average 70% lower than in the same period last year. According to market operators, there are prerequisites for further reducing the cost of early cabbage, since the volume of products offered is increasing every day, and the sales rate in this segment remains at an extremely low level.
