On October 29, a meeting on potato production in 2020 was held at the new potato processing plant of Kasimovsky Potato LLC in the village of Torbayevo, Kasimovsky District.
The meeting was attended by heads and specialists of agricultural enterprises, farmers, as well as the chairman of the Potato Union Sergey Lupekhin (Moscow) and the general director of Kasimovsky Potato LLC Valentin Savinov.
Opening the meeting, Oleg Ivannikov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Ryazan Region, noted: “Ryazan farmers grow potatoes using modern technologies, 2 thousand hectares are irrigated, which allows for a stable crop. This year were able to achieve a significant increase in productivity. It is important that potato processing capacities are growing in the Ryazan region: in 2019, another company was launched - Kasimovsky Potato.
Chairman of the Potato Union Sergey Lupekhin told Ryazan farmers about the varieties and seeds of potatoes that are in demand on the Russian market.
Representatives of companies involved in the construction of modern potato storages and the supply of equipment for them presented their current proposals to agricultural producers.
Director General of Kasimovsky Potato LLC Valentin Savinov conducted a tour of the potato processing plant and spoke about the prospects for cooperation in the supply and processing of potatoes.
At the end of the meeting, a working meeting was held between the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Ryazan Region Boris Shemyakin and the Chairman of the Potato Union Sergey Lupekhin, at which they summed up the meeting and discussed plans for the development of the industry in 2020.
