The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Ryazan Region informs about the progress of spring field work in the region as of April 17.
Today, spring crops are sown on an area of 211 thousand ha (67% of the plan), annual grasses on 16 thousand ha (55%), sugar beets - on 1,9 thousand ha (38%), sunflower - 7 thousand ha (13%), spring rape - 10 thousand ha (21%), mustard - 0,6 thousand ha (25%), soybeans - 0,2 thousand ha (0,7 %), perennial coverless herbs - on 5,6 thousand ha (50%).
Agrarians of the Skopinsky and Ryazan districts began planting potatoes, and the Zakharovsky district began planting vegetables on open ground.
Winter crops are fed on 317 thousand ha (95% of the cultivated area), perennial grasses on 26 thousand ha (35%). Agricultural producers of 7 regions of the region completed top dressing of winter crops.
To preserve moisture in the soil, harrowing of winter chaff (472 thousand ha), perennial grasses (35 thousand ha) and winter crops (180 thousand ha) is carried out.
