Agrarians of the Sverdlovsk region started spring sowing. Field work has already begun in Alapaevsky, Baikalovsky, Bogdanovichsky, Irbitsky, Kamensky, Kamyshlovsky, Talitsky and Sysert districts.
“Thanks to the good weather, farmers started field work earlier than usual. Today, spring sowing has been carried out on an area of a thousand hectares, including grain crops sown on an area of 773 hectares, industrial crops - 243 hectares, potatoes - 55 hectares, open-ground vegetables - 18 hectares. The better and drier the weather, the faster other territories will begin to sow, ”said Dmitry Degtyarev, Minister of Agriculture and Consumer Market of the Sverdlovsk Region.
He said that in 2020 more than 98 thousand tons of seeds will be used for sowing grain and leguminous crops. To date, 78,8% of standard seeds are available in the farms of the region, which is 9,2% higher than the level of 2019 at the corresponding date. In order to carry out varietal renewal, farmers have already purchased more than a thousand tons of elite seeds of grain and leguminous crops. The seeds of potato (42 thousand tons.) And vegetables (9 thousand tons) were fully provided for in the region. In order to apply for the current year’s crop, farms purchased 18,2 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers in the active substance, which is 4,4 thousand tons in the active substance higher than last year's level on the corresponding date. At the moment, prices for mineral fertilizers remain at the price level of 2019.
“Financing of agricultural work is going as planned. The ministry helps in obtaining loans. So, at preferential rates, 91 applications from the Sverdlovsk Region for the amount of 2 billion rubles were agreed and sent to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, including 66 applications for spring field work in the amount of 1,1 billion rubles, ”the minister said.
The first to the applications of the Ural farmers traditionally responded to a specialized financial institution - Sverdlovsk Russian Agricultural Bank. In the first quarter, the bank financed applications to farmers of the region in the amount of over 340 million rubles. Of these, more than 70% are registered at preferential rates of no more than 5%.
