Potatoes from the Baltic countries appeared on the shelves of Ukrainian supermarkets. Ukrainians have been using Belarusian and Romanian potatoes since the end of November, SEEDS reports.
This information was shared by the executive director of the Ukrainian Association of Potato Producers (UAPK) Oksana Ruzhenkova.
“At the end of 2020, UAIC warned that without importing potatoes in the current marketing year, Ukraine is unlikely to cope with meeting the needs of the domestic market.
The reason is the decline in the share of industrial potato growing over the past 6 years from 30% to 1,9% in the structure of total production, ”writes Oksana Ruzhenkova on her Facebook page.
