A large-scale investment project on the construction of a vegetable processing plant is being prepared for implementation in the region. The new enterprise will be launched this year. 500 million rubles will be invested in it and 100 new jobs will be created.
Lucky chance
Moscow investors have long been looking for a suitable site in our region for the construction of a vegetable processing plant, in particular for drying them. They needed a territory of several hectares of land, so that the highway, engineering networks and vegetable farms worked nearby. They were already desperate to find something suitable for themselves and were going to other regions, but then the case intervened. Just in the Gorodishchensky district there were free municipal lands, plus the federal highway passes through it and there are communications.
This site was of interest to the guests of the capital, it took six months to discuss all the nuances with them, the regional committee of agriculture and the governor Andrei Bocharov joined in this. Currently, design and survey work is underway and issues with engineering networks are being addressed. The project is ready for the stage of state examination, work on it will begin in April.
“It is of great importance for our settlement, since they plan to create about 100 jobs at the new plant, which means that the local population will be provided with work and a stable salary, and our budget will receive additional tax deductions that can be spent on landscaping,” says the head of Novozhizensky rural Settlements Yuri Klochkov. - Also, the producer will purchase onions, carrots, beets from Volgograd farmers, because they are nearby, which means stable supply of raw materials will be provided. Such a neighborhood is also beneficial for farmers - no need to rack their brains on where to put their crops.
According to the investor, after reaching full capacity, the plant will process 40-45 thousand tons of vegetables per year, and receive 2,5 thousand tons of dry products at the output. It will be in demand by food industry enterprises, including fast-food restaurant chains, and can be used in the manufacture of semi-finished food products - for example, bouillon cubes.
In addition, the local authorities hope that this will be a socially oriented business. So, he will take patronage over the settlement, will assist in the improvement of the territory, support social facilities, etc.
Beneficial for everyone
The opening of the plant is expected in autumn, when the harvest of local vegetables will begin so that they can be brought directly from the field for processing. In September-October, it is planned to test the equipment, the first 600-700 tons of vegetables will be processed, and then they will gradually reach the planned capacity. “This is an important project not only for the Gorodishchensky district, but for the entire region as a whole,” said Pavel Chumakov, adviser to the governor on agro-industrial complex issues. - These are contributions to the regional budget, the development of rural infrastructure and a stable sales market for local vegetable growers. They often have to sell their products for a pittance to dealers, so they need their own processing so that they know how much and what crops to grow, what price they will get for them. Then you can plan your work and the economy of the economy.
