Mikhail Tremasov, Regional Representative for the Siberian Federal District and the Far East, LLC GRIMME-RUS
The territory of the Kemerovo region belongs to the risky farming zone. Nevertheless, more than thirty successful farms operate in this region, which are engaged in the production of potatoes and their deep processing, using European experience, advanced equipment and technologies.
SPK "BEREGOVOY"
Sergey Niiolaevich Polikov, General Director of SEC “Beregovoi”
This farm owes its name to the picturesque village of Beregovaya, located on the banks of the Tom River. Director of SEC “Beregovoi”, the hero of Kuzbass, Sergei Nikolayevich Polikov has been managing the agricultural enterprise since 1994. The director recalls about that time as follows:
- In 1994, the production base was weak, it was necessary to do everything anew. At that time vegetable bases went bankrupt. We bought out one such base from the city, began to store our products ourselves, and in winter sell them in all cities of Kuzbass. Subsequently, in the village of Beregovaya, they built four storage facilities with a capacity of three thousand tons each, then another one for two thousand tons, equipped it with modern climatic equipment, purchased effective field equipment and left manual labor. Thanks to these measures, we increased the yield of potatoes from 150 to 300 c / ha, cabbage from 300 to 800 c / ha, carrots from 200 to 550 c / ha, beets from 180 to 450 c / ha.
Now SPK "Beregovoe" is a successful diversified enterprise, where, as before, special attention is paid to the production of vegetables (280 hectares are allocated for the cultivation of cabbage, onions, carrots, beets, radishes) and potatoes (350 hectares). All products are sold not only in the cities of Kuzbass, but also in other regions of Siberia.
LLC "BEKON"
Alexander Vasilievich Stolyarov, head of LLC "Bacon"
This farm, headed by Alexander Vasilyevich Stolyarov, has been growing potatoes for more than ten years. 550 hectares are allocated for the culture. The company has its own storage for 6 thousand tons of products.
The problem of harvesting in a short time on the farm is solved with the help of three trailed double-row combines (two BR 150 and one SE150-60) and three diggers WR 200. Cleaning is carried out by the enrichment method according to the scheme 2 + 2 or 2 + 4. This solution allows you to harvest before night frosts and prolonged rains.
VESNA LLC
Nikolay Petrovich Safonov, Head of Vesna LLC
This farm is one of the exemplary in the region. There is always perfect order on the territory, and the equipment is in impeccable condition. All this, as noted by Nikolay Petrovich Safonov, the head of Viasna LLC, contributes to productive work and high yields. Potatoes are grown here on an area of 300 hectares. In 2017, the average yield was 272 c / ha.
It should be noted that most of the Kemerovo farms (as well as the farms of the neighboring Novosibirsk and Tomsk regions, Altai and Krasnoyarsk territories), along with imported selection varieties, actively grow local potato varieties created in Kemerovo Research Institute of Agriculture under the guidance of a famous scientist, doctor of agricultural sciences, associate professor Nikolai Alekseevich Lapshinova.
KDV-AGRO LLC
Viktor Vasilyevich Beskorovaev, General Director of KDV-AGRO LLC
Undoubtedly, one of the most advanced enterprises in the region is KDV-Agro - a division of the KDV company. KDV-Agro dates back to 2011, when 150 hectares of potato chips were planted. It took the enterprise a year to perfect the technology and form logistics schemes. Then a period of development began: production volumes increased (now potatoes are grown on an area of 2300 hectares). In many ways, the success of the enterprise is ensured by the competent selection of equipment.
Given the whims and unpredictability of the Siberian spring, the farm makes every effort to plant potatoes as soon as possible. The five high-performance GRIMME planters - eight-row GL 860 planters equipped with remote control and telemetry - provide invaluable assistance.
High requirements for the quality of potatoes and the timing of their harvesting are provided by the four-row self-propelled harvesters TECTRON 415 and VARITRON 470. KDV-Agro is the only farm in Russia where six four-row self-propelled machines operate, the operating time of which is 25 ha within 28-380 days. All this huge farm is managed by a wonderful young team under the leadership of General Director Viktor Vasilyevich Beskorovaev.
Nikolai Alekseevich Lapshinov, Director of the Kemerovo Research Institute of Agriculture
Recently, Siberian potato growers have raised the question of the need to improve the quality of potatoes, primarily by selecting certified seed material. Foreign companies in several Siberian farms are launching seed production projects of the highest reproduction. Also, agricultural producers in the region are systematically following the path of replacing the fleet of obsolete machines with modern equipment and mastering advanced technologies. So, most recently, many enterprises were wary of the idea of planting potatoes with simultaneous combing. Today, more and more farms use this agricultural technique.
Many large enterprises (with potato growing areas of more than 300 hectares) are considering buying self-propelled harvesting machines.
Crop processing issues, including deep processing (production of chips, starch, potato flakes), also become relevant for Siberian potato growers.
In conclusion, I want to note that in the Kemerovo region there are all the prerequisites and opportunities for growing high-quality potatoes, it is no coincidence that the region from year to year is among the leaders in the production of this crop in Russia.
